Visiting Périgueux

Périgueux boasts no less than 44 listed historic monuments including Saint-Front cathedral (12th century), the  Jardin des Arènes public gardens surrounded by the relics of the Roman amphitheatre (2nd century), Vésone tower (relics of a Gallo-Roman temple), the Barrière castle (12th and 16th centuries), Mataguerre tower (13th century fortification), the Maisons des Quais (an architectural ensemble of 3 beautiful 15th and 16th century mansions).

Lascaux caves – Montignac

Discover the prehistoric cave paintings and carvings in the Lascaux caves, the prehistoric equivalent of the Sixtine Chapel, today a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  This "reproduction" of the Great Hall of the Bulls and the Axial Gallery (90% of the Lascaux paintings) were created using the same techniques and pigments as the originals.
